A New Exhibit for Steve Kaufman!!!

We had a very exciting week here, as we learned of a new, historic art exhibit featuring 150 works by Andy Warhol, along with works by his friends Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michael Basquiat, and yes, Steve Kaufman!  The exhibition is called “Writing as an Image, Writing within an Image,” and it is being held from now until June 30, 2012 at the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art in Slovakia — in the hometown of Warhol’s parents.  This is HUGE, and very exciting.  To all collectors, be proud to own one of these paintings, and also know it’s a great investment.  I am so proud of Steve Kaufman and what he accomplished in his short life.  For more information about this exhibit, please visit:  http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/5/prweb9502015.htm

Also this week, we presented eight limited edition paintings for display at Freeport Public Schools to help inspire and encourage the students.  Below is the photograph.  The painting is called “Abraham Lincoln: Portrait of an Achiever.”  Steve Kaufman specifically created this painting for the purpose of inspiring and encouraging young people.  The painting’s message is to show that no matter how many times a person fails, he or she can always succeed.  Despite how many failures Abraham Lincoln had in his life, he went on to be a great President.  Pictured left to right are:  My daughter, Rachel Dengel, who is an Educator at Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School, Leslie Gonzalez, Communications; Me, holding a lovely plaque I was presented with, from the district; Debra Mule, Vice President, Freeport Board of Education; and Dr. Kishore Kuncham, Freeport Superintendent of Schools.  Thank you Howard Schnapp for taking this photo.  I met Howard and Leslie years ago, during my time working with Salzman Ashley Photography Studios.  It felt like old times dining and catching up with everyone that evening.
